What does convection oven do

  • Cooking in a convection oven has several advantages. Like conventional ovens, convection ovens have a heating element, but they also have a fan that circulates the hot air inside the oven.
  •  The cooking temperature is thus distributed more evenly and gives better cooking.
  • Convection cooking is also interesting in terms of energy efficiency since it is faster and is done at lower temperatures, which allows consuming less energy.
  • Another very practical advantage of the convection oven: you can cook on several levels at the same time without affecting the cooking of the food, which saves time and saves energy.
  • Two disadvantages, on the other hand: it is higher cost to purchase and the noise of the fan, which can sometimes be disturbing. Whichever you choose, at the time of purchase, opt for a device with a large window that is also well lit from the inside; this will allow you to monitor your cooking without having to open the oven and thereby lose heat.

How do convection ovens work?

  • A convection oven contains several resistances which heat up electrically and, in doing so, heat the interior of the appliance.
  • Inaddition, this oven is also equipped with one or more fans, which distribute the hot air homogeneously inside the oven.
  • Convection ovens are therefore able to cook food evenly, thanks to the convection motion performed by the hot air.
  • Anotheradvantage is represented by the cooking times of the food, which in the convection oven are faster.

What’s convection oven

  • The convection oven works with one or more fans, allowing hot air to circulate inside.
  • By circulating the hot air uniformly, the cooking of food is accelerated, the heat is better distributed and you get better results. Conventional ovens, on the other hand, are generally equipped with a single heating element which does not always allow such constant and precise cooking.
  • A distinction is made between regular convection ovens with two heating elements and “real” convection ovens (also called European convection ovens) since the latter usually contains a third heating element, located near the fan at the rear of the oven. The heat, therefore, circulates even better.
  • With a convection oven, your dishes will be cooked to perfection!
